We desperately needed a facelift for our outdoor porch! The stucco was cracking, the paint was chipping, and prior to us moving in, the contractors created a porch column out of scrap plywood and that started to rot! Honestly, I was pretty embarrassed having people come over because of the way our front porch looked :/
This year, I said we are giving our porch a mini facelift and that is what we did! With the help of Safavieh we transformed this space – continue reading 🙂
Before…
One of our main pain points with our front porch was when it rained or snowed, water/snow would collect on the floor and sometimes flood the space. We hired a contractor to level out the floor and add a drainage hole that leads out to the front garden bed, so if water does start to flood, there is a way for it to be drained.
Here is the before & after of the column. The first photo is the column that was made of plywood, as you can see at the bottom, it started to rot, which made is super ugly. I think the newer column looks so much better, not as bulky and sleek.
Since the existing paint was chipping, we had to scrap off all of the damaged paint to the best of our abilities and then we slapped on a fresh coat of paint. We painted it the color Timeless by Clare Paint. The color was the perfect white – it’s creamy, but still the perfect white. It brightened up the space so much!
Now time for the fun part!

We partnered with Safavieh to have our front porch furnished. Let me just say – they have so many good outdoor options, it was really hard to choose!

The Kinnell Outdoor Armchair was the perfect seating option for this space. The warm wood tones and light grey fabric worked perfectly with the color scheme I wanted to achieve. The fabric and frame of this chair is durable, so I am not worried about the change in weather damaging them.
The Kaston Planter is probably the cutest planter I’ve seen. The pumpkin inspired ripples with grey concrete finish really brings out the flowers!
The Indria Planter is the perfect modern black planter that elevates the color of the plant. What I loved most was how lightweight, but sturdy this planter was!
The Norsan Outdoor Wall Lantern is a sleek option for lighting. It comes with the lightbulb and it’s actually really bright.
The outdoor area rug is the perfect neutral option! I love the delicate pattern and the durable outdoor fabric will definitely be able to withstand the warm and cold weather we get in PA.
Now, that our porch is finally finished, I cannot wait to enjoy a cold drink or hot coffee while sitting outside!
xoxo,
